I promised myself that I would make a change to my habits and I jumped out of bed this morning and tried the couch to 5K app on my phone. I don’t know whether its the amazing weather or my new attitude to getting back in shape or a combination of both but I feet great!
Believe me, I am not a sporty person, but I got my trainers on and got on with it. It was hard, and at times I did wish it was over, but at the end I was really proud of myself and its only 9.30 in the morning and I’ve already done it!
As I ran I listened to the dulcet tones of tones of Jo Whitley, who said something as I was running that really resonated with me. She said,
“If you stop, it’s harder to get going again. You just have to keep moving.”
Absolotuely spot on! This isn’t just about exercise, this applies to everything. When I have stopped writing for a number of different reasons, ok let’s be honest – excuses, it has been so hard to get back into it again because I have lost momentum. If we are really going to make progress with anything, we have to keep going.
I have really committed myself over the last week to my book and now I am 3000 words further forward. I am so excited about finishing my book and this week has given me the push and opportunity to refocus.
What do you need to refocus on?
